Front Range FAB - Seeing Red, Dyeing Botanical Reds

The color red has been one that represented power, strength, and courage. From the earliest cave paintings to its use as body embellishment, the use of red reminds us today of just how important color was to global cultures throughout history. This workshop will explore the natural sources of red from plant, animal and mineral sources. We will expand our red options using different modifiers and additives and look at the mportance of temperature and water In this deep dive into one of the most important historical colors.

Experience Level: All levels welcome

Students bring: Notebook or paper, something to write with, protective gloves and/or apron. Wear clothes you do not mind getting dye on.

Supply fee to be paid to instructor at time of class: $30 Includes all supplies, sample yarn skeins

Class Schedule:  Saturday 9:00-4:00 (Lunch 12-1)
