About the farmhers

Hi!

I’m TeDi, partner, mom, shepherdess, farmher, fiber artist, botanical dyer, weaver, reluctant knitter, soap and lotion maker, dog breeder and teacher of heritage crafts.

In 2014 I lost my job of 23 years as the HR Director of a large non-profit child care organization.  As devastating as it was, through that experience (or perhaps as a direct result of it), I rediscovered joy and laughter in my life.  Spending my days with the sheep, goats, and dogs on the farm helped me evaluate my life, my next steps, and reconnect with the slow, simple life I'd become so disconnected from. While making a batch of soap one day a few weeks into unemployment, it occurred to me that I could share these simple pleasures with others and carve out a life I loved in the process.

That was 10 years ago this coming October. I can’t believe it’s been that long. It hasn’t always been easy. Being self employed is an adventure unto itself, and when you throw in goats, sheep, and puppies it makes for a wild ride. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

One of my favorite things to do is teach. There is something special that feeds my soul when I am sharing heritage craft skills with others. Being a steward to the old skills and the land we occupy is my life’s work.

I hope our workshops and farm goods bring the joy and peace of simple living to you.

Hi! I’m Toot

After spending 34 years in the classroom teaching middle school shop, I have recently retired. I am a life long woodworker and am looking forward to finishing up my woodshop and spending long days tinkering when I get to the bottom of TeDi’s “to build” list. When I’m not building things, I like spending time with my “perfect” dog, Murray and hiking the Colorado trails and traveling.

I hope you enjoy our fiber tools as much as I enjoy making them!
