Front Range FAB - Introduction to Tape Weaving

Before buttons, before zippers, and before velcro, most garments and items had simple woven bands or tapes to secure them.  This workshop will teach the basics of setting up, threading, and weaving a simple band and explore the rich history, steeped in traditions of many cultures.  We will look at the simplest of patterns and explore those designs involving more threads and advanced techniques.   Each student will go home with a heddle and instructions enabling them to create their own bands and take away the skills to expand their tape weaving world.

Experience Level: Beginners

Students bring: Colored pencils (if you have them) scissors, notebook and something to write with.

Supply fee to be paid to instructor at time of class: $30, which includes a small heddle and shuttle and yarn.
