Spin to Weave at the *Estes Park Wool Market

There’s nothing like weaving with your own handspun yarn!  We will spend the morning preparing fiber and spinning textured yarn from the instructor’s sheep. There will several breeds and colors to choose from and you may even hear stories about the sheep!  In the afternoon we will weave little tapestries on "I" looms with our yarn. This isn’t necessarily a spinning technique class (although the instructor loves to share how to make her no-card natural bouclé). It’s more about spinners coming together to spin fun art yarn from local sheep fiber and then learning to weave with it. Kind of like a mini sheep to shawl (in this case tapestry).

SKILL LEVEL:    Students should be comfortable with their wheel and able to spin a consistent yarn.

STUDENTS TO BRING:  Students should bring a spinning wheel in good working order and niddy noddy. Handcards or combs and a ball winder would also be helpful but not critical.  Instructor will have a couple of sets of hand cards and drum carder for students to share.

Looms may be purchased at the end of class for $69
